Our research focuses on the evolutionary and ecological factors that influence patterns of population and species genetic variation in solving problems in human health, biodiversity, and conservation.Â
We are particularly interested in population genetic/genomic, molecular evolution, and biostatistical analyses that seek to understand how historical perspectives, both adaptive and non-adaptive, have shaped our local and global ecosystems. A large part of this approach is recognizing how the human element -- particularly through anthropogenic disturbance such as urbanization -- has played and continues to play a role in how traits, populations and ecosystems evolve.
